Obituaries Index

The Obituaries Database has approximately 63,000 newspaper obituaries on file. To search the index, enter the deceased person's last name or maiden name. If the name is located, the results will list the Last Name, First Name, Age, Maiden Name, Date of Paper, Book and Page Number of the deceased. This list is not complete index, but an ongoing project, so if you do not find the obituary you are searching for in the index, please contact the Society.

The Rock Island County Historical Society requires a $5.00 fee for obituary requests per obituary, to help off set the costs of preserving our collection. To obtain a copy of a obituary located in the index, please fill out the research form which is located on the Research Library/Requests page, indicating the name, book and page number of the obituary. Obituaries will be send via e-mail after receiving the $5.00 and Research Request Form. Obituaries can be sent via postal mail, only if a SASE is included with orginal request and fee.
