Photograph Database

The Rock Island County Historical Society has cataloged approximately 2,000 pictures from our archives relating to the business, organizations, people, houses, schools, churches of Rock Island County.  The Photograph Database searches the Title and General Description of the photographs in our collection, and the results display General Description, Sub-Category, Circa Year, Folder Number, and Title of the photograph.  To search this database enter into the search bar the name of the business, organization, person, school, church, etc. that you are searching for .

To request a copy a photograph(s) or to view the photograph(s) from your search results, please contact the Society.  Copies of photograph(s) for personal use sent via e-mail are subjected to a $15.00 per image, and copies of photograph(s) for personal use sent postal mail are subjected to a fee of $15.00 per image, plus shipping and printing costs to help offset the costs of preserving our photograph collection. Photographs requested for any use other than personal, will be subjected to a special fee schedule listed on the Photograph Use Policy of the Society.

The Society's Photograph Room is closed to researchers. The Society does not permit researchers to photograph or scan any photographs that are in the Society's collection.  However, photocopies of images can be made by staff members.  For more information, please review the Society's Library & Archive Use Policy, or contact the Society at (309) 764-8590.
